Sandy’s Bravest Stand Ready!

Good morning from the jumpseat here in WV.

Bowers Fire Company

Trucks have been moved out to high ground.

No doubt the biggest story going is how much impact that hurricane sandy and the #Frankenstorm will dump on the east coast.  The perfect storm on steroids looks to be a major problem for the east coast bravest.  During the past two years I have had the honor of meeting many people through teaching and traveling. One of my favorite stops was with the folks of Bowers Fire Rescue.

I had the honor of presenting my Hoarder Fires Presentation to the department and toured their wonderful area. Sandy has her eye on their quiet little town and the men and women of Bowers Fire Company stand ready!  I spoke with Chief Pennington, no relation, last night and they had moved their trucks, all but 1, to higher ground and are digging in with boats ready to assist.  With a storm surge that could reach well into their fire station, they have some challenging days ahead.

So as we make our way through the day let us all stop and say a prayer for the towns that will be seeing Sandy soon and stand ready to help them in this time of need.  God Bless the first responders on the east coast.  Keep an eye on for the latest from Delaware!
