Rain,Vomit, and Disappointment!

Good morning from the injured reserve.  This past weekend I had the honor of joining in with Team Firefighter, a group of endurance athletes, in a 90 day weight loss challenge.  Team Firefighter is a closed facebook group that is on a mission to help firefighters stay fit.  For the past two years I have kept up with their accomplishments and all I can say is WOW.  So with that in mind I signed up for their 90 day challenge.  90 days to regain what I have lost.  90 days to kick-start my motivation.  90 days to realize that it doesn’t get easier it gets harder the more you don’t workout!

My first workout was this morning, a two-mile run.  It hurt worse than the half marathon I ran last year!  Had to stop and Vomit twice, REALLY.  I could taste salt, grease, and sugars all come up!  Bam!  Now that’s a workout.  It truly is amazing the crap we sometimes eat, it’s no wonder that we are an obese nation!

Now that I have my first run back done I must say that the disappointment is overwhelming.  We should be held accountable for loosing our fitness and it starts with me! I believe that Team Firefighter is a worthy group and look forward to sharing the journey of regaining fitness with you here on views.

If you would like to join up with team firefighter here is a link to their site!  Team Firefighter

So up out of that lazy boy and do some miles! A mile for your family, coworkers, and the military!

Have a great day Everyone!
